🔴1ThuNew Year's Day

Public holiday, everything closed.

New Year is seen in outdoors, on the main squares, with a concert and fireworks. The 1st is then a recovery day: the city is silent, and the traditional cure is hot soup or yesterday's sarma.

🔴6.utoSveta tri kralja
🔴6TueEpiphany

Public holiday, everything closed. Also called Bogojavljenje.

A priest goes round blessing homes, chalking the year and K+M+B on the door lintel for Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. In some regions children go door to door singing, a custom called koledanje.

🟢7.sriPravoslavni Božić
🟢7WedOrthodox Christmas

A normal working day for most people. Under Article 3 of the holidays act, Orthodox Christians have the right not to work on this day. It is an individual entitlement, not a national closure.

On Christmas Eve an oak branch, the badnjak, is burned, and straw is spread on the floor as a reminder of the stable. The greeting is 'Hristos se rodi', answered with 'Vaistinu se rodi', meaning Christ is born, truly he is born.

🟢3.utoSveti Vlaho, zaštitnik Dubrovnika
🟢3TueSt Blaise, patron saint of Dubrovnik

Not a national holiday, but a city holiday: in Dubrovnik much closes and there is a large procession. Elsewhere an ordinary working day.

Dubrovnik has celebrated its patron since 972, unbroken for over a thousand years; the festivity is on the UNESCO intangible heritage list. White doves are released in the morning, standard-bearers carry the banners of the old city districts, and throats are blessed with two crossed candles. St Blaise protects against throat ailments.

🟢17.utoPokladni utorak
🟢17TueShrove Tuesday

Zadnji dan fašnika (poklada), radni dan. Uvijek 47 dana prije Uskrsa, utorak prije Pepelnice.

The last day of carnival, a working day. Always 47 days before Easter, the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The date moves every year.

Carnival, fašnik or poklade, runs from Epiphany to Shrove Tuesday, peaking over the final weekend and the Tuesday itself. Children go to school and nursery in costume, krafne doughnuts and fritule are fried, and in the evening the Pust, an effigy blamed for everything that went wrong that year, is tried and burned on the town square. Rijeka's carnival is the largest: the zvončari, UNESCO-listed bellringers in sheepskins with bells on their backs, tour the villages around Rijeka from St Anthony's Day on 17 January, and the big International Carnival Parade goes through the city on the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.

🟢15.nedDan osnivanja Narodne zaštite
🟢15SunDay of the Founding of Narodna zaštita (National Protection)

Spomendan. Radni dan.

Obilježava 15. ožujka 1991., kada je Višestranačko vijeće Republike Hrvatske donijelo zaključak o osnivanju Narodne zaštite, dobrovoljne, nenaoružane i višestranačke organizacije građana, u trenutku kad Hrvatska još nije imala vlastitu vojsku.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

Marks 15 March 1991, when Croatia's Multi-party Council resolved to found Narodna zaštita, a voluntary, unarmed, cross-party organisation of citizens, at a point when Croatia had no army of its own. After the 'Bloody Easter' clashes at Plitvice it grew at speed, armed itself, and alongside the police and the new National Guard Corps laid siege to some fifty JNA barracks around Zagreb. More than 260,000 volunteers passed through it; by the end of 1991 they had been absorbed into Croatian Army brigades and the Home Guard. It is commemorated as the first organised response by ordinary citizens to the coming war, before the state had the means to respond itself.

🟢29.nedCvjetnica
🟢29SunPalm Sunday

The Sunday before Easter. Not a listed holiday, and it falls on a Sunday anyway. The date moves every year.

On Palm Sunday branches are blessed: olive on the coast, pussy willow inland. The blessed branch is taken home and kept behind a crucifix or above the door until the following year.

🟢3.petVeliki petak
🟢3FriGood Friday

PAZI: Veliki petak NIJE neradni dan u Hrvatskoj. Sve normalno radi. Ovo iznenadi gotovo svakog stranca.

CAREFUL: Good Friday is NOT a public holiday in Croatia. Everything is open and it is a normal working day. This catches out almost every foreigner. The date moves every year.

People work, but no meat is eaten and it is a strict fast day. Way of the Cross processions take place in the evening. On Hvar, through the night from Maundy Thursday into Good Friday, the Za križen procession crosses six villages: cross-bearers walk barefoot for eight hours without stopping, a custom unbroken since the 16th century and UNESCO-listed.

🔴5.nedUskrs
🔴5SunEaster Sunday

A public holiday, but it falls on a Sunday so it costs no working day. Everything closed and restaurants book out. The date moves every year: the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after 21 March.

On Holy Saturday a basket is taken to church to be blessed: ham, horseradish, spring onions, dyed eggs and a plaited loaf. That is the Easter breakfast, eaten cold and early. Eggs are traditionally dyed red with onion skins, and children knock them against each other, and the one whose egg survives intact wins.

🔴6.ponUskrsni ponedjeljak
🔴6MonEaster Monday

Public holiday, everything closed. This is the one that actually gives the long weekend. Moves every year, always the day after Easter Sunday.

No ritual, this is the day for an outing. Traditionally people head into the countryside or go visiting; in some regions it is also the day for dousing people with water.

🟢30.četDan pogibije Zrinskog i Frankopana
🟢30ThuDay of the Death of Zrinski and Frankopan

Spomendan. Radni dan. Obilježava pogubljenje Petra Zrinskog i Frana Krste Frankopana 1671.

Petar Zrinski i Fran Krsto Frankopan pogubljeni su u Bečkom Novom Mjestu 1671. nakon urote protiv Habsburgovaca. Njihovi su posmrtni ostaci vraćeni u Zagreb tek 1919. i počivaju u katedrali. Uz njih ide i rečenica 'Navik on živi ki zgine pošteno'.

Commemorative day, normal working day. Marks the execution of the nobles Petar Zrinski and Fran Krsto Frankopan in 1671.

Petar Zrinski and Fran Krsto Frankopan were beheaded in Wiener Neustadt in 1671 after a conspiracy against the Habsburgs. Their remains were only returned to Zagreb in 1919 and lie in the cathedral. The line associated with them is 'Navik on živi ki zgine pošteno', which means he who dies honourably lives forever.

The first of May starts early: people head to a park or into the countryside, and free bean stew with sausage is ladled out of enormous cauldrons. Expect a queue, an accordion, and every good spot taken by nine in the morning.

🟢9.subDan Europe i Dan pobjede nad fašizmom
🟢9SatEurope Day and Victory over Fascism Day

Spomendan.

Otud Dan Europe. Radni dan; zastave, polaganje vijenaca i prigodni programi.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

Two commemorations in one day. On 9 May 1945 Germany's capitulation took effect and the Second World War ended in Europe. That is Victory over Fascism Day, marked under that name in Yugoslavia as well. On the same date in 1950 the Schuman Declaration proposed pooling coal and steel under a common authority, the seed of the European Union. Hence Europe Day. A working day; flags, wreath-laying and official programmes.

🔴30.subDan državnosti
🔴30SatStatehood Day

Zato stariji kalendari i navike još govore 25. lipnja.

Public holiday, everything closed. Marks the constitution of the first multi-party parliament in 1990. Moved to 30 May in 2020, so older calendars and older residents may still say 25 June.

Marks the constitution of the first democratically elected, multi-party Croatian Parliament on 30 May 1990, after the first free elections since the Second World War. Taken as the birthday of the modern Croatian state.

As a holiday: Statehood Day and a non-working day from 1990 to 2001. From 2002 to 2019 a commemorative working day under the name Croatian Parliament Day. Since 2020 Statehood Day and a non-working day again. That is why older calendars and older habits still say 25 June.

Procesije idu ulicama, a put se posipa laticama cvijeća i travom. Nose se baldahin i posvećeno tijelo, a na četiri postaje se staje i moli. U manjim mjestima cijelo selo ukrasi svoj dio puta.

Public holiday, everything closed. Always 60 days after Easter, so always a Thursday. Many people take the Friday off and make it a four-day weekend. The date moves every year.

Processions move through the streets over a path strewn with flower petals and cut grass. A canopy is carried above the consecrated host, with stops and prayers at four stations. In smaller places the whole village decorates its own stretch of the route.

🔴22.ponDan antifašističke borbe
🔴22MonAnti-Fascist Struggle Day

Public holiday, everything closed. Marks the forming of the first anti-fascist partisan unit in 1941. Politically contested in a way most Croatian holidays are not.

The date marks the founding of the Sisak Partisan Detachment in the Brezovica forest on 22 June 1941, described in Croatia as the first armed anti-fascist unit in occupied Europe. Unlike most Croatian holidays this one is politically contested, and not everyone marks it the same way.

🟢25.četDan neovisnosti
🟢25ThuIndependence Day

Spomendan, RADNI DAN.

Dan državnosti i neradni dan. Od 2020. Dan neovisnosti, spomendan i radni dan.

Commemorative day and a WORKING day. Careful: this was a full public holiday until 2020 and plenty of people still treat it as one.

Marks 25 June 1991, when the Sabor adopted the Constitutional Decision on the Sovereignty and Independence of the Republic of Croatia and the Declaration on the Establishment of the Sovereign and Independent Republic of Croatia, the formal declaration of independence from Yugoslavia. Its effect was suspended for three months under the Brijuni Declaration of 7 July 1991, and on 8 October 1991 the Sabor severed all remaining state ties with Yugoslavia.

Public holiday, everything closed. The biggest Catholic feast of the summer, with major pilgrimages. The coast is at its fullest and the roads are at their worst.

🟢23.nedEuropski dan sjećanja na žrtve totalitarnih režima
🟢23SunEuropean Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes

Spomendan.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

The date is the anniversary of the 1939 Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact, under which Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union carved up eastern Europe. The European Parliament proclaimed it a day of remembrance in 2008/2009 and Croatia keeps it as a commemorative day. It remembers the victims of Nazism, fascism and communism together, which is also why it is politically touchy in Croatia.

Coincides with the International Day of the Disappeared. Croatia is still searching for roughly 1,700 to 1,800 people missing from the Homeland War; more than thirty years on, families are still waiting for a grave. The central commemoration is in Vukovar.

🔴1SunAll Saints' Day

Mirogoj u Zagrebu tog dana cijeli treperi u svjetlu svijeća. Ide se i na grobove daljnje rodbine, a cvijeće i lampaši se kupuju danima unaprijed. Nije tužan dan u smislu žalosti, nego više obiteljski i miran.

Public holiday, everything closed. Families visit cemeteries with candles and flowers. Cemeteries and the roads to them are packed.

Cemeteries fill up and candles are lit from morning. Zagreb's Mirogoj shimmers with candlelight from end to end. People visit the graves of distant relatives too, and flowers and candles are bought days in advance. It is not a mournful day so much as a quiet family one.

🟢11.sriMartinje
🟢11WedSt Martin's Day

Običaj, ne blagdan. Sve radi.

A custom, not a holiday, everything open. The day new wine is symbolically baptised; expect festivities in wine regions.

On St Martin's Day the new wine is 'baptised': someone dresses as a bishop, a mock sermon is delivered and the young wine is given a name. Roast goose or duck with mlinci and red cabbage goes with it. In wine country, especially Zagorje, Slavonia and Istria, this is one of the merriest days of the year.

If you are driving that weekend or on the evening itself, be especially watchful: there are more people on the roads who have been celebrating than usual. Police presence is stepped up, with spot checks along the way, so expect to be stopped.

Kolona sjećanja prolazi Vukovarom od bolnice do Memorijalnog groblja, nekoliko kilometara, desetci tisuća ljudi, u tišini. Prati se uživo na televiziji. Svijeće se pale i drugdje po zemlji. Nije prigoda za čestitanje ni za veselje.

Public holiday, everything closed. Full name: Remembrance Day for the Victims of the Homeland War and for the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja. A day of national mourning for the fall of Vukovar in 1991, not a celebration, and greetings are out of place. Became a non-working day in 2020.

The Column of Remembrance walks through Vukovar from the hospital to the memorial cemetery, several kilometres, tens of thousands of people, in silence. It is broadcast live. Candles are lit across the country. This is not an occasion for greetings or good cheer.

🟢6SunSt Nicholas' Day

Običaj, radni dan. Djeca navečer 5.12. ostavljaju čizmice; Nikola donosi darove, a Krampus šibu.

A custom, working day. Children leave boots out on the evening of the 5th: Nikola brings presents and Krampus brings a birch rod (šiba).

On the evening of 5 December children polish a boot and leave it on the windowsill. In the morning a good child finds sweets and small gifts in it; a naughty one finds a birch rod left by Krampus. In practice most get both, and the rod is often gilded, so even the punishment is ceremonial.

🟢13SunSt Lucy's Day

A custom, working day.

On St Lucy's Day wheat is sown in a shallow dish. By Christmas it has grown into a green tuft, tied with a tricolour ribbon and set on the table or under the tree. The thicker and greener it grows, the better the coming year is supposed to be.

Public holiday, everything closed. The second day of Christmas, traditionally for visiting the wider family.

The second day of Christmas is for visiting: relatives and godparents. Everyone called Stjepan celebrates their name day, and the name is common enough that someone in the room is almost certainly buying a round.

🟢3.sriSveti Vlaho, zaštitnik Dubrovnika
🟢3WedSt Blaise, patron saint of Dubrovnik

Not a national holiday, but a city holiday: in Dubrovnik much closes and there is a large procession. Elsewhere an ordinary working day.

Dubrovnik has celebrated its patron since 972, unbroken for over a thousand years; the festivity is on the UNESCO intangible heritage list. White doves are released in the morning, standard-bearers carry the banners of the old city districts, and throats are blessed with two crossed candles. St Blaise protects against throat ailments.

🟢9TueShrove Tuesday

🟢15.ponDan osnivanja Narodne zaštite
🟢15MonDay of the Founding of Narodna zaštita (National Protection)

Spomendan.

Otud Dan Europe. Radni dan; zastave, polaganje vijenaca i prigodni programi.

Two commemorations in one day. On 9 May 1945 Germany's capitulation took effect and the Second World War ended in Europe. That is Victory over Fascism Day, marked under that name in Yugoslavia as well.

Od 2020. Dan Hrvatskoga sabora, spomendan i radni dan.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

Marks 8 October 1991, the day the Brijuni moratorium expired and the Sabor severed all state ties with Yugoslavia. That is the day independence actually took effect.

As a holiday: from 2002 to 2019 Independence Day and a non-working day. Since 2020 Croatian Parliament Day, a commemorative working day.

🔴1MonAll Saints' Day

A church day but a working one, following straight on from All Saints.

A continuation of All Saints, but turned towards prayer for the dead. Less public and more liturgical, with yesterday's candles still burning.

🟢11.četMartinje
🟢11ThuSt Martin's Day

🔴18.četDan sjećanja na žrtve Domovinskog rata
🔴18ThuRemembrance Day for the Victims of the Homeland War

Public holiday, everything closed. Full name: Remembrance Day for the Victims of the Homeland War and for the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja. A day of national mourning for the fall of Vukovar in 1991, not a celebration, and greetings are out of place. Became a non-working day in 2020.

The Column of Remembrance walks through Vukovar from the hospital to the memorial cemetery, several kilometres, tens of thousands of people, in silence. It is broadcast live. Candles are lit across the country. This is not an occasion for greetings or good cheer.

🟢6MonSt Nicholas' Day

Običaj, radni dan. Djeca navečer 5.12. ostavljaju čizmice; Nikola donosi darove, a Krampus šibu.

A custom, working day. Children leave boots out on the evening of the 5th: Nikola brings presents and Krampus brings a birch rod (šiba).

On the evening of 5 December children polish a boot and leave it on the windowsill. In the morning a good child finds sweets and small gifts in it; a naughty one finds a birch rod left by Krampus. In practice most get both, and the rod is often gilded, so even the punishment is ceremonial.

🟢13.ponSveta Lucija
🟢13MonSt Lucy's Day

A custom, working day.

On St Lucy's Day wheat is sown in a shallow dish. By Christmas it has grown into a green tuft, tied with a tricolour ribbon and set on the table or under the tree. The thicker and greener it grows, the better the coming year is supposed to be.

🟢3.četSveti Vlaho, zaštitnik Dubrovnika
🟢3ThuSt Blaise, patron saint of Dubrovnik

Not a national holiday, but a city holiday: in Dubrovnik much closes and there is a large procession. Elsewhere an ordinary working day.

Dubrovnik has celebrated its patron since 972, unbroken for over a thousand years; the festivity is on the UNESCO intangible heritage list. White doves are released in the morning, standard-bearers carry the banners of the old city districts, and throats are blessed with two crossed candles. St Blaise protects against throat ailments.

🟢29TueShrove Tuesday

🟢15.sriDan osnivanja Narodne zaštite
🟢15WedDay of the Founding of Narodna zaštita (National Protection)

Spomendan.

People work, but no meat is eaten and it is a strict fast day. Way of the Cross processions take place in the evening.

On Holy Saturday a basket is taken to church to be blessed: ham, horseradish, spring onions, dyed eggs and a plaited loaf. That is the Easter breakfast, eaten cold and early. Otud Dan Europe. Radni dan; zastave, polaganje vijenaca i prigodni programi.

Public holiday, everything closed. The biggest Catholic feast of the summer, with major pilgrimages. The coast is at its fullest and the roads are at their worst.

The largest Marian feast. Marija Bistrica receives tens of thousands of pilgrims, many walking through the night; the same goes for Sinj and Trsat. If you are travelling, this is the worst day of the year for the roads to the coast and the most expensive week for accommodation.

🟢23.sriEuropski dan sjećanja na žrtve totalitarnih režima
🟢23WedEuropean Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes

🟢30.sriDan sjećanja na nestale u Domovinskom ratu
🟢30WedDay of Remembrance for the Missing of the Homeland War

Spomendan. Radni dan.

Poklapa se s Međunarodnim danom nestalih osoba. Hrvatska još traži oko 1.700 do 1.800 osoba nestalih u Domovinskom ratu. Više od trideset godina poslije, obitelji još čekaju grob. Središnja komemoracija je u Vukovaru.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

Coincides with the International Day of the Disappeared. Croatia is still searching for roughly 1,700 to 1,800 people missing from the Homeland War; more than thirty years on, families are still waiting for a grave. The central commemoration is in Vukovar.

🟢25.ponDan sjedinjenja Istre, Rijeke, Zadra i otoka
🟢25MonDay of the Union of Istria, Rijeka, Zadar and the Islands

Spomendan.

Commemorative day, normal working day.

After Italy's capitulation on 8 September 1943, the wartime Croatian assembly ZAVNOH resolved on 20 September to unite Istria, Rijeka, Zadar and the islands with Croatia, territories that had been under Italy between the wars. An assembly of Istrian representatives in Pazin confirmed it on 25 September, which is the day marked. A commemorative day since 2005.

🟢8.nedDan Hrvatskoga sabora
🟢8SunDay of the Croatian Parliament

Spomendan.

🔴1.sriSvi sveti
🔴1WedAll Saints' Day

🟢2.četDušni dan
🟢2ThuAll Souls' Day

Crkveni dan, ali radni. Nastavak Svih svetih.

A church day but a working one, following straight on from All Saints.

A continuation of All Saints, but turned towards prayer for the dead. Less public and more liturgical, with yesterday's candles still burning.

🟢11.subMartinje
🟢11SatSt Martin's Day

🔴18.subDan sjećanja na žrtve Domovinskog rata
🔴18SatRemembrance Day for the Victims of the Homeland War

Public holiday, everything closed. Full name: Remembrance Day for the Victims of the Homeland War and for the Victims of Vukovar and Škabrnja. A day of national mourning for the fall of Vukovar in 1991, not a celebration, and greetings are out of place. Became a non-working day in 2020.

The Column of Remembrance walks through Vukovar from the hospital to the memorial cemetery, several kilometres, tens of thousands of people, in silence. It is broadcast live. Candles are lit across the country. This is not an occasion for greetings or good cheer.

🟢6.sriSveti Nikola
🟢6WedSt Nicholas' Day

Običaj, radni dan. Djeca navečer 5.12. ostavljaju čizmice; Nikola donosi darove, a Krampus šibu.

A custom, working day. Children leave boots out on the evening of the 5th: Nikola brings presents and Krampus brings a birch rod (šiba).

On the evening of 5 December children polish a boot and leave it on the windowsill. In the morning a good child finds sweets and small gifts in it; a naughty one finds a birch rod left by Krampus. In practice most get both, and the rod is often gilded, so even the punishment is ceremonial.

🟢13.sriSveta Lucija
🟢13WedSt Lucy's Day

A custom, working day.

On St Lucy's Day wheat is sown in a shallow dish. By Christmas it has grown into a green tuft, tied with a tricolour ribbon and set on the table or under the tree. The thicker and greener it grows, the better the coming year is supposed to be.

RADNI DAN, nije blagdan. Trgovine i uredi obično rade skraćeno i zatvaraju rano poslijepodne.

A WORKING day, not a holiday. Shops and offices usually keep shorter hours and close in the early afternoon. The main family meal is in the evening.

A fast until the evening meal, then bakalar, salt cod, either whipped into a spread or stewed. The tree often goes up only on this day. Midnight mass follows.

🔴25.ponBožić
🔴25MonChristmas Day

Public holiday, everything closed.

The table carries roast pork or turkey with mlinci, sarma, and cakes baked days in advance: walnut and poppy-seed rolls inland, fritule on the coast. The greeting is 'Sretan Božić', returned in kind. The city is completely empty; do not count on getting so much as a coffee.

🔴26.utoSveti Stjepan
🔴26TueSt Stephen's Day

Public holiday, everything closed. The second day of Christmas, traditionally for visiting the wider family.

The second day of Christmas is for visiting: relatives and godparents. Everyone called Stjepan celebrates their name day, and the name is common enough that someone in the room is almost certainly buying a round.

🟠31.nedStara godina
🟠31SunNew Year's Eve

RADNI DAN, nije blagdan. Trgovine i uredi obično rade skraćeno.

Silvestrovo. People work until early afternoon, then see the year out, either on the main square or at home with friends. Fireworks at midnight and phone calls to relatives.

Kako dodati u svoj kalendar

Google Kalendar

Klikni Google Kalendar u izborniku.

Apple Kalendar (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

Klikni Apple Kalendar. Otvori se upit za pretplatu, potvrdi. Na iPhoneu i Macu to je isti korak.

Ručno na iPhoneu: Postavke › Aplikacije › Kalendar › Računi › Dodaj račun › Ostalo › Dodaj pretplaćeni kalendar, pa zalijepi adresu:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/30ec552c0c8fcb559ed1881f91c213bbce78e591d4d7e851c8e22944a9f15763%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

Na Macu: Kalendar › Datoteka › Nova pretplata na kalendar. Osvježavanje postavi na „svaki dan”.

Samsung Kalendar (Galaxy telefoni)

2. Otvori aplikaciju Google Kalendar. Izbornik (tri crte gore lijevo) › Postavke › ime novog kalendara, pod „Prikaži više” ako ga ne vidiš. Uključi Sinkronizaciju.

3. Otvori Samsung Kalendar. Izbornik (tri crte gore lijevo) › Upravljanje kalendarima › svoj Google račun, pa uključi kalendar.

Ako kalendar ostane prazan, otvori Postavke › Računi i sigurnosno kopiranje › Upravljanje računima › svoj Google račun › Sinkronizacija računa, i uključi Kalendar.

Nemoj koristiti „Uvoz događaja” u Samsung Kalendaru.

Ručno: Dodaj kalendar › Pretplata s weba, pa zalijepi adresu iznad.

Klasični Outlook za Windows: Datoteka › Postavke računa › Internetski kalendari › Novo.

Sve ostalo (Thunderbird, Fastmail, Proton, Nextcloud...)

How to add it to your calendar

This is a subscription, not an import. Your calendar stays linked to the source, so corrections and new years arrive on their own. The "Add to your calendar" button offers shortcuts for the common apps. This section explains what happens behind them and how to do the same by hand.

Google Calendar

Click Google Calendar in the menu. calendar.google.com opens and asks "Add calendar?". Confirm, and the calendar appears next to your other calendars.

On a phone, do this in the browser, not in the app. The Google Calendar app cannot add a calendar from a link. Once you add it on the web, it shows up in the app too. If you cannot see it, open the settings of the app, find your account and switch the calendar on.

By hand: on the web, next to "Other calendars" click +, then "Subscribe to calendar" and enter the calendar address:

30ec552c0c8fcb559ed1881f91c213bbce78e591d4d7e851c8e22944a9f15763@group.calendar.google.com
Apple Calendar (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

Click Apple Calendar. A subscription prompt opens. Confirm it. The step is the same on iPhone and Mac.

By hand on iPhone: Settings › Apps › Calendar › Accounts › Add Account › Other › Add Subscribed Calendar, then paste the address:

https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/30ec552c0c8fcb559ed1881f91c213bbce78e591d4d7e851c8e22944a9f15763%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics

On a Mac: Calendar › File › New Calendar Subscription. Set auto-refresh to "every day".

Samsung Calendar (Galaxy phones)

Samsung Calendar cannot subscribe to a calendar address. It shows only the calendars of the accounts on your phone. So put this calendar in your Google account first, then switch it on in Samsung Calendar.

1. On the phone, open this page in the browser and click Google Calendar. Sign in with the same Google account the phone uses, then confirm "Add calendar?".

2. Open the Google Calendar app. Menu (the three lines, top left) › Settings › the name of the new calendar, under "Show more" if you do not see it. Turn Sync on.

3. Open Samsung Calendar. Menu (the three lines, top left) › Manage calendars › your Google account, then switch the calendar on.

If the calendar stays empty, open Settings › Accounts and backup › Manage accounts › your Google account › Sync account, and switch Calendar on.

Do not use "Import events" in Samsung Calendar. That copies the dates once, and they never update again.

Without a Google account, Samsung Calendar cannot do this at all. A separate app such as ICSx⁵ holds the subscription and shows it in Samsung Calendar.

Outlook

Outlook.com and Microsoft 365 on the web: click Outlook.com in the menu. By hand: Add calendar › Subscribe from web, then paste the address above.

Classic Outlook for Windows: File › Account Settings › Internet Calendars › New.

Everything else (Thunderbird, Fastmail, Proton, Nextcloud...)

Any app that offers "subscribe to a calendar by URL" or "network calendar" takes the same .ics address. Copy it with the Copy address button and paste it.

To look without a subscription: open in Google Calendar.
